It is with much sadness that we share the news that Sophie Kaplan passed away Wednesday morning. Sophie was the wife of Isaac D. "Speedy" Kaplan, of blessed memory, and the mother of Frank (Arriene) and Leon Kaplan, and grandmother of Rachel Kaplan. She was a much beloved member of the shul. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 19th at 2:00 P.M. at the Congregation Beth Jacob Cemetery on 61st Street. Rabbi Doctor will officiate.

Adolph "Dolph Reinhardt

Our condolences to the family of Adolph "Dolph" Reinhardt. Mr. Reinhardt, 90, was born in Galveston, and passed away in Bryan, Texas on Friday, October 3rd. He was the dearly loved brother of Goldie Halfant, of blessed memory, and Molly Jacobi, and the beloved uncle of Rozanne Halfant Rubin (Howard) and Jerry Halfant (Carlis). As Rozanne describes him, "Uncle Dolph was TRULY the patriarch of our family and a WONDERFUL man!!!!" His complete obituary can be found online through the Moore Funeral Home in Arlington, Texas, where you can read about the life and times of this charming, talented and much respected gentleman.

Harry Swiff

We received the following note from Shari Schwartz and Brian Swiff.  Our dad Harry Swiff passed away late Sunday night peacefully and just the way he wanted to, at home. His service was Tuesday August 26, 2014  at 3:00.  We are grateful for his long life and particularly his unwavering dedication to our mother in her later years. He was so very happy to be living at The Windsor and serving as it's unofficial charge de affairs. They were so wonderful to him, especially our guardian angel Carol Cottle.
